RE: MSFT share repurchases.
They had the worst advisers for their share repurchase plans---that is
on the open market. (equity puts are were great)
They did not repurchase shares in the DEC 97 quarter(i believe)
and another quarter sometime last year. Bad moves. This could have
been one of the reasons why the stock did not move up after
earnings last year at this time.

My guess is that they are doing "dollar cost averaging" for their
open market purchases nowadays. I think they have learned from their
mistakes in the past. I am betting on a significant repurchase, which
will be also be a bullish signal to investors. I saw the INTEL
earnings release---they bought back a lot of shares. MSFT may have
actually done a lot more buying due to the October lows.

What are they going to do with all that cash anyways? Might as well
reduce the outstanding shares!!!
JMHO.

I can see 160 already or higher tomorrow. (will settle for 155)
