Develop Unique Plug-In for Document Viewing and Markup
Building Industry Leaders Partner to Enhance Collaboration Using
The BidCom System
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 19 /CNW/ -- BidCom, Inc., the leading provider of Web-based business-to-business applications

the integration of Cimmetry's AutoVue plug-in for BidCom's in-Site application. The new jointly developed plug-in, called
in-Vue, will allow in-Site users to view, manipulate and annotate documents in more than 200 different file formats, such as
architectural and engineering computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, spreadsheets, and word-processing documents.
in-Vue is a more robust solution than other similar technologies because of its ability to allow users to simultaneously markup
and redline documents on-line and in real-time. This new relationship is another component of BidCom's overall strategic
partnership initiative, which is designed to offer in-Site's users the most functional and technologically superior platform
available to the building industry.
BidCom and Cimmetry have partnered to develop the in-Vue plug-in specifically for the in-Site application. The tight
integration of the plug-in with the BidCom system means that annotated versions of drawings and documents can be saved on
a server and then referenced later by other in-Site users -- such as architects, structural engineers, and general contractors.
Additionally, the tight integration with in-Site's proprietary workflow and permissions components will safeguard the integrity
of both the original and annotated documents, as well as guarantee that only qualified individuals will be able to access these
documents and annotations. For example, an architect or general contractor can view and markup a blueprint directly over the
Internet. Each user is assigned a unique session ID, a different unique color for markup, and every manipulation of the
document is archived for future reference.

in-Vue differs from other Cimmetry plug-ins because it is tightly integrated within the architecture of the in-Site application.
This unique plug-in allows in-Site users to assign permissions for read/write abilities and to keep a record of the individuals
that interact with specific documents and drawings and in what fashion. Additionally, integrating in-Vue within the in-Site
application allows users to manipulate documents and drawings without having to install viewing software on their local
computers.
