Dear Anaxagoras: It seems that whenever we get good news (i.e., ATHM), we get bad news. In today's Wall Street Journal there's a story about ONSL and its strategy to sell new computers at its wholesale cost (i.e., no mark-up).

"Onsale says it is gambling that revenue from advertising on its website, fees for service contracts and leases, plus a nominal handling fee per order, will leave it with a small operating margin. The company says it doesn't expect to make a profit from marking up prices to consumers."

I hope that EGGS doesn't adopt that strategy. Great revenue growth won't mean squat!

Overwhelming response...much appreciated...as I know when I read longer posts certainly helps place a focus...guess I'm gonna have to leave LCOS along this am.

Hope all profit nicely today...Mr. Bear(appellation I use for all short sellers)...you out there? You guys think they will be carrying a few XCIT and LCOS short sellers out in a body bag today?

ONSL: FYI since EGGS is somewhat in the same peer group

estimate for 16¢ in line with ONSL's preannouncement of 15-17¢, 4Q margins at 8.5-9.0% and Revs about 59M for Q4.

Also to offer products on the net at wholesale prices.

As a comeback for those with an interest to get a "¢" type in the following : Alt+0162, depressing the "Alt" button while typing in the number.

bonne chance :-)
