I have come to appreciate max's posts as well.
But I'm not certain that I would characterize max as a long term holder. More like a slow trader. And, if memory serves me, max's timing was off the last couple of times he traded.
Sometimes, even with a wet finger up in the air, you just can't tell which way the wind is blowing.
With all due respect.

kc,I invest/trade on riskreward ratios--the market at this time in certain sectors have been hot so I have gotten several 2-5 baggers rather fast---and at most I see ABTX in the shorterm a highly risky
attempt to get a 2-bagger.
For people like John Baker and Darrel Minot who have truly laidback
3-5 years perspectives and apparently have there money allocatted in
a way that if ABTX were to tank they have no problems with riding out
the hard times for a better day.
Now Michael has made money on ABTX,good money, and I believe quite a bit is from over 12 months back(so he gets a tax-break),so he has simply taken the wise, conservative decision of "a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush"--and personally I endorse such a decision.
So,now why have I become nervous about ABTX as matters stand now---
one I was very distressed how ABTX shot their mouth off and opened
themselves up to,and had a 70million lawsuit filed against them for libel and breach of contract---this simply has raised serious questions for now about the management---and it upset me a great deal.
Two,the new convertible debenture deal that INCREASES shares allotted if the price of the stock decreases is something I by choice
will not participate in as an investor---also I am quite distressed
that ABTX did NOT name who the 3 firms are that they made this deal with--and that bothers me also.
Thirdly, while class action lawsuits are a dime a dozen these days,
and basically to be ignored --I am struck by in this instance that
it was filed so late after the fact--like perhaps the lawfirm actually did some research---that is actually not a reason for my now being
very cautionary--but it didn't help---and lastly, what has become of Kurt Vedder--I think Kurt may have thrown in the towel also.
My views are ONLY based on a "odds for and against" evaluation, and
NOT in any way a certainty of view---and I refuse to invest on a macho
I can handle the risk,I got the cajones type of attitude---so that is about it.
If the buy-out suddenly comes,my best to you all,and will be glad for you---but the risk now,as I see it, is not for me.Good Luck,Max
