Ahh Dipy... apparently you can't even discern sarcasm when you see it. Oh well, that's what I would have expected. Oh and... don't hold your breath waiting for the Republican petard hoisting. There's gotta be some specific reason why Clinton desperately doesn't want witnesses called and I suspect that in a few weeks we'll find out what it is. I wouldn't be at all surprised if ten years from now all of the people who are currently supporting Clinton will be too ashamed to admit it. Sort of like the people who supported Nixon in '73-'74.

The Neal Boortz Show

January 20, 1999

SANTA CLAUS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING

No, I didn't watch the speech. I have a strong stomach, but not that strong. I was resting in the sack reading an aviation magazine while the liar was droning on, hypnotizing the myrmidons. One listener did e-mail me that he thought he heard the Sergeant at Arm say "Santa Claus has left the building" as the liar disappeared through the doors of the House chamber.

IT'S ALL BASED ON ONE HUGE LIE

First of all … almost all of Clinton's proposals were based on the idea that we have a balanced budget, and that there are going to be huge surpluses in the coming years.

This is a lie. It is a "big lie" that has taken hold. The overwhelming majority of Americans believe it to be true. There is one problem, though. It is very simply not true. Our budget is not balanced, and we are not going to see any surpluses for quite some time, if ever.

Last year, a year in which Clinton claimed a budget surplus, the United States government had to go in debt an additional $130 billion dollars just to cover basic expenses. This year, while Clinton is once again predicting a huge surplus, the government will borrow another $100 billion plus.

Anyone with the sense to balance a checkbook knows that you cannot declare a surplus on borrowed funds. If you are borrowing to pay basic bills, your budget is not balanced. Your budget is only balanced, you can only have a surplus, when actual income meets or exceeds expenses.

THE VERY DEFINITION OF SOCIALISM

I have been telling you for years that this one was coming.

When Clinton first became President -- back during the era of Democratic control -- he was toying with some rather interesting ideas. One was the idea that the federal government should own a certain percentage of the major corporate players in each one of five or six specified industrial or business groupings. He took care to appoint to the Commerce Department some people who had been working on this concept.

The voter revolution of 1994 put a screaming halt to all of that --- until now.

Now Clinton is going to use the sacred cow of Social Security to implement this goal.

For starters, he wants to invest one-fourth of the Social Security trust fund in the stock market. Republicans had argued that the individuals who earned this money should be allowed to make the investment decisions. But noooooooooo. Clinton would hardly agree to allow private individuals to make decisions that can be made by government. Especially when government power would be increased.

Stock ownership means that you own a portion of that company. When we talk about 25 percent of the Social Security Trust Fund, we're talking about serious money. Trillions of dollars over the next few decades.

This will make the Social Security Administration -- the Social Security Trust Fund --- the largest single investor in American business. That means that the Imperial Federal Government of the United States will be the largest single investor in American private enterprise.

That, my friends, is the definition of socialism -- Government ownership of the means of production.

The '60s era socialist radicals have come into their own. Clinton, their leader, is now clearly displaying his socialist credentials for all to see. His college professors warned us. Nobel laureate Milton Friedman warned us. Now we can see they are right.

In his speech Clinton said "our government is a progressive instrument for the common good." The word "progressive" has historically been a sugar-coated substitute for the word "socialist."

Four years ago Clinton said "the era of big government is over."

This year he has told us that the era of socialism has arrived.

At the end of his speech last night he talked about "A new dawn for America." It's a red dawn. The dawn of the age of American socialism.

WAIT UNTIL SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS WAKE UP TO THIS ONE

The first will be the labor unions. Environmental and racial groups will soon follow.

These groups will see great possibilities in this massive government investment in the stock market. They will use their political clout to direct these investments. Unions, for instance, will demand that companies that are not "friendly" to unions not be considered for any trust fund investments. Similar demands will be made by the eco-radicals.

Soon, in order to have access to this huge pool of investment capital, corporations will be rushing to unionize their workers and meet the demands of the tree-huggers. Then the racial quotas will set in --- employ XX% of blacks and hispanics, regardless of their employability and job skills, or their stock doesn't get bought.

Any company of any significant size that is denied participation in this investment pool will be severely disadvantaged.

The result? Inefficiency resulting in higher prices … you know the rest.

UNIVERSAL SAVINGS ACCOUNTS?

And just what is this Clintonista idea for government participation in our savings accounts? The government is going to give every single American a check and let us invest it any way we want? Then the government is going to match a portion of any additional money that person puts in that investment account?

What a wonderful idea. Take our money away by force. Then give them some of their money back IF they will put it in an investment account. Then give them more back if they invest more. This way the government becomes an active participant in our savings accounts. Just how soon will there be new government guidelines on where we can and cannot invest our money?

WHO OR WHAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR ECONOMY?

Clinton is, if you listen to Clinton.

In his speech last night Clinton said that "I came to office in a time of doubt for America, with our economy troubled …."

Well, if it was a time of doubt, it is because so many people doubted the character and integrity of the man who was moving into the White House. Those doubts proved well founded.

As for the economy being troubled? Not so. It had been in a growth cycle for almost two years when Clinton was sworn in.

I covered this on the show yesterday, but some of you wanted details.

Last year Investor's Business Daily did a poll of leading corporate executives across the country. They wanted to know what these executives thought was driving our sustained economic growth.

The results? More than two-thirds of these executives thought that productivity gains were the number one driving force behind our economy. Running number two was the Federal Reserve and Alan Greenspan. Information technology was number three.

But wait! The Democrats say that Clinton gets the credit! Most people agree? Most people, that is, who are not in charge of running large businesses.

So, where did Clinton come in on the list of causative factors in the study?

Well, 26 percent thought that Reagan administration policies were driving the economic growth. That's ten years after Reagan left office. Another 14 percent gave the credit to George Bush. As for Clinton, he gets the credit from 8 percent of the executives. Dead last.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TALK SHOW CALLERS

Thanks to a listener for finding this one for me. It comes from the Democratic Party web site www.democrats.org.

It seems the Democrats want to make better use of talk radio to promote their agenda. Interesting, on the one part they call it "hate radio," and then they instruct their own fellow travelers how to make use of it.

I have reprinted the talk radio instructions for you. Please note that, true to form, and following the example set by their leader, the Democrats are urging the use of dishonesty as a political tactic.

"Greetings! Thanks for your interest in using Talk Radio to support the President.

The best way to get on the air is to call a show and identify yourself as a regular listener and fan of the host otherwise you will be turned away. It might take several tries before you get through, but do not give up, you will eventually get through. Be sure to have your message written down in front of you. Keep it short and to the point. And stick to it. Do not let the host deflect you and be sure not to let a conservative host fluster you. Be energetic, but calm. Hostility will not win over any listeners, even if you are right. Just keep coming back to your point, i.e. "President Clinton did not commit any impeachable offenses...It's all about sex...An Impeachment trial will shut down the government for months to come." If the host attacks harshly, back him or her away gently, "Oh, Come on, you know that's something I couldn't agree with. As I was saying earlier...."

Be good natured, good humored. If possible, relate a personal story related to what the host has been talking about. For Talking Points, use anything you can find on www.democrats.org. Your voice and your message is critically important. Thanks again for helping the President and the Democratic Party.

We have provided lists of National Talk Radio Programs in both HTML and Adobe .pdf (for easy printing and redistribution)"

No … The Neal Boortz Show is not listed. Perhaps the Democrats know that the tactics set forth in their little memo wouldn't work on my show. Then again, maybe they don't even know I exist.

I'm crushed.

THE PARTY OF IMPEACHMENT?

Barbara Boxer, the radical left-wing Senator from California, said yesterday that the Republican Party is going to go down as "the party of impeachment."

That so?

Well then what, pray tell, will the Democratic Party go down as? How about "The Perjury Party?" We could also call it "The Party of Lies" since Democrats depend on deception to promote their agenda.

To some, the party of impeachment might be seen as "The Party of Principle."

INTERNET THREAT?

Threat to government, that is.

Don't think for a minute that the people in Washington haven't noticed that there are much stronger anti-Clinton sentiments on the Internet than there are in the general population. The reason? Internet users are, by and large, better educated and higher achievers. These people constitute a danger to the nanny state. Somehow the government is going to have to find a way to bring the internet under control. It's just too free. Too much information being exchanged out of the control of the government. So, what is government's best retaliation against the Internet? Taxes. Open the floodgates and allow phone companies to charge for your internet time, even though you are dialing locally. The power to tax is the power to destroy. Stand by.

VIOLENCE AT THE SUPER BOWL?

Miami officials are busy trying to downplay violence against tourists in the Miami area. A few days ago a tourist was followed from the airport, robbed and killed.

Have you ever thought for a moment as to why Florida predators like to target people coming in to Florida through Miami International?

Guns.

Ever since Florida passed a law making it easier for law abiding citizens to carry guns, violent crime has been on the decrease. It's the same story across the nation. Simple fact. Criminals don't like armed victims.

So, if you are a predator in Florida where are you likely to find a victim with lots of cash and no gun? Airports, that's where. The predators know that these people have been through screening devices that block weapons, but not cash. When they see that tourist leaving Miami International they know that there is a very slim chance the tourist has a gun. Slim chance he has a means to defend and protect himself. So, there's the target! Probably has a lot of cash, and no gun. Go get 'em!

LISTENER E-MAIL

I was wrong. After listening to just a portion of our beloved president's speech tonight. I have come to the conclusion. We must find some way to elect him for another four years or longer. Just give him this extra time and he will certainly solve all the world's problems. God help this country if this circus is taken seriously. We are certainly in more trouble than I thought.
Here's how I got through the State of the Union without throwing up: I turned down the volume and listened to the soundtrack from Evita. I mean, it's the same deal, isn't it? (and I'd much rather hear Antonio Banderas...)
For the love of God!!!!! All the President left for us to do is wipe our asses.. He will take care of the rest...
Bill Clinton has always reminded me of the political candidate in Stephen King's "The Dead Zone". The candidate shielded himself from an assassination attempt by holding a baby in front of his body. The exploitation of the American heroes and mothers of dead children seemed like Clinton was holding these people out in front of his body, shielding himself from character assassination.
Once again Da Pres demonstrated his long standing desire to encumber all of America with the shackles of big government. "The Era of Big Government is Over" Yeah right, it had to so the Era of REALLY Big Government could begin.
I thought Christmas was over until I heard the State of the Union Address last night. Mr. Clinton is giving away more stuff than Santa Clause with his save Social Security save Medicaid, raise the minimum wage and blah blah blah. And how in the world can you sue the tobacco companies yet subsidize the tobacco farmers at the same time? It certainly sounds like the era of big government is here to stay.
I do believe that Mr. Clinton might be the only president in our history that would not give his life for his country. The State of the Union speech was used to bolster his media contrived polls and to drive a deeper wedge between the Senate Republicans and Democrats.
In the State of the Union address, Clinton finally went, clearly, on the record as a socialist. He came out and said that he wants the government to begin ownership of private industry. At first it doesn't seem to scary, the Federal Goverment buys stock in a small number of companies, next the Federal Goverment publishes guidelines for companies who wish to be in the plan, lastly the Federal Goverment requires all public companies conform to the standard because to do otherwise would make thier stock buying practices unfair. Be afraid, be very afraid.
