Advanced Plant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. - APPI - Announces the Signing of
Agreement with FreeRide Media (www.freeride.com) for Internet Sales of
APPI Products

NEW YORK, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Plant Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: APPI - news) announced today that they have signed
a ''Get it Sponsorship'' agreement with FreeRide Media (www.freeride.com
), allowing APPI to advertise their products to FreeRide members on the
Get It portion of the FreeRide web site.

Advanced Plant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that they have
signed a ''Get it Sponsorship'' agreement with FreeRide Media (
www.freeride.com). FreeRide's web site has 300,000 registered users and
receives 12,000,000 hits monthly. The agreement allows APPI to advertise
and sell their standardized pharmaceutical grade nutritional products to
FreeRide members on the Get It portion of the FreeRide web site using
any form of promotional or information-deriving mechanisms including
on-line purchases. APPI will make their product line available for
purchase to all FreeRide members via a link from FreeRide's web site to
APPI's order page on the their own web site (www.advancedplantpharm.com
).

Initially APPI will make available to all Internet shoppers their fully
standardized, pharmaceutical grade, patented, cholesterol lowering agent
''Lo-Chol''. Lo-Chol is a combination of six different botanicals and
has been shown to not only lower total cholesterol and triglycerides,
but also increase HDL (good cholesterol) and balance the proportion of
HDL to LDL (bad cholesterol). APPI will also introduce ''ACA,'' the
nutritional version of Abavca, the Company's most clinically advanced
pharmaceutical. ACA is derived exclusively from whole plants and has
been shown to overcome many of the debilitating symptoms of the AIDS
virus and CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) while enhancing the immune
system.

Pursuant to the agreement APPI will pay to FreeRide a percentage of
sales less any charges to taxes, freight, returns and charge-backs as a
result of FreeRide member purchases either on or off line. Chief
Operating Officer for APPI Barry Clare, sees the Internet as a great
marketing tool for the Company's products. Mr. Clare intends to further
the exposure of Company products through similar agreements with other
major on-line shopping sites.

APPI is a company that develops innovative plant formulations and
technology for clinical application. APPI has met FDA nutritional
specifications for the marketing of its Lo-Chol in the USA, and has
received the first IND from the FDA for a whole plant pharmaceutical
which has potential as an immunomodulater in the treatment of patients
infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

APPI's Whole Plant Pharmaceutical Grade Process is trade secret and
patent pending. Utilization of the APPI process converts a whole plant
into the best standardized pharmaceutical grade product.

FreeRide Media, the Internet Marketing Company, currently has more than
300,000 registered members and over 1000 sponsor offers from companies
like Kodak, HBO, Lever Bros., Net Grocer, Nabisco, Kraft, Duracell,
Alamo Rent A Car and many others. In February 1998, FreeRide made the
Media Metrix top 10 domain impression list at #10. The sites on this
list are the sites that generate the most page views per visitor.
FreeRide members earn points good for free CD's, free Internet access,
free magazines and free gift certificates by visiting sponsor web sites,
requesting free samples, buying groceries, even for just giving their
opinion. FreeRide awards are extraordinarily popular with today's online
consumers because they can be earned quickly and don't have any
restrictions.

APPI expects to announce further agreements in the near future.
