It is amazing the impact that a positive or negative announcement has from CNBC. David Farber was very careful to not confirm any details of parties involved in the talks. I too would hope for an AOL deal.

13:05 ET Compaq Computer (CPQ) 46 5/8 unch: CNBC reporting that PC maker was scheduled to report major Internet deal today, but has decided to delay announcement. Speculation is that company is interested in signing pact with major media company.

Hmmm ATHM gets Excite, AOL gets Altvista hmmm
