JDN, If you think it would piss you off, guess what it does for 30 somethings like me who have paid in for 20 years and know the system will be gone before I have a chance to draw a dime. Since I know I won't see any benefits from it, I say kill it off now and allow individual retirement accounts. Barring a financial meltdown, I could still parlay my current SS witholdings into a nice retirement in the next 20-30 years. As it stands, I'm just paying in to prolong the inevitable. All the post WWII babies are now in their 50's. In the next ten years, we'll be hearing Dandy Don sing "turn out the lights, the party's over". SS will be drained...
