Hey, our thread made the hot list at SI. I just got back the fill on my order to quadruple my position, so everybody go out and spread the AXC gospel to those poor souls chasing those overpriced Internet stocks on other threads. <ggg>

I've stopped trying to read the tea leaves on this one. IMHO ampex is once again way ahead of the curve technologically and may miss the boat again once huge amounts of quickly accessible storage is actually required. If disk makers start coming out with 200GB drives that cost $250 who needs DST anymore. Hopefully the DST will also improve on size, speed, reliability and price and still be competitive once the infrastructure for high definition video on demand is finally in place. In the mean time I'll keep sitting on my undervalued shares.

I think that management has a strategic plan that they are patiently pursuing, they just don't think that it is wise to share their strategy with the world (i.e. potential competitors) yet. Once they have all the pieces in place and the time is right, I fully expect that they will market it to the hilt. Otherwise Mr. Bramsons huge investment in this company makes no sense. Remember, you don't have to have the best product in the category to be percieved and rewarded as the best, that's what marketing is for (not that it hurts your marketing effort any if you do indeed have the best in category). You are also wasting your best chance at successfully marketing your product if the market isn't ready or your company isn't ready to take advantage of the demand you create once the market is ready.

Patiently waiting (for several years now),
Steve

Probably two things: a large number of people taking profits here on their 13/16ths buys. Buy the rumor, sell the news. And, the deal may well involve expenses up ahead.

reiterassoc.com This shows their various business areas. Mostly web hosting, but also web site design, domain name registration, and they offer commissions for retailers who get their own clients, but use Reiter for hosting.

Lets suggest that they spin this off as an IPO. Now we're talking appreciation! I wonder how much of the borrowed money was used for this. I guess we'll know when they file their next quarterly or annual with SEC. At least we can deduce something based on cash decrease or additional shares outstanding. Maybe they'll make it easy and disclose the terms.

As far as volume and price today, it seems typical that not everyone has access to news. The price goes up and people rush to sell not knowing if it's a temporary rise or based on news. Others see it coming back down and rush to lock in some gains. I say let's see if I can catch some more at a low price before everyone reads the news tomorrow morning, or after work today.

Don't forget last year's contest winner picked AXC to be this year's small cap gainer of the year. I'll take $10 share. That's just a 490 million market cap - still small cap range, and well within reach if you ask me.

David

See also 4523, Support and Resistance. If this stock is in a solid uptrend, we will be seeing this sort of thing all the way. There were just too many people who picked the stock up on the way down thinking it just cant go any lower.
