I do not believe that anyone can time market tops or bottoms
Market tops are hard. Let me be the first to say I have been very lucky and this may be just more luck ... Timing market bottoms, or near bottoms. I have done well buying at times like last October when there is a 20% or so correction. There seems to be at least one every year. These times have not been hard to spot as the TV and these chat groups start screaming and volume goes crazy. As soon as volume slows down I buy over the course of the next couple of days and usualy can double the money in three months.

I want to repeat that I'm not sure I know what I am doing. It seems to work though and I was wondering if there was a better way to increase my gains without actually risking a lot more money (I realize I may put the money at higher risk).

I suppose one day the market is going to drop and just go splat at the bottom, I'm not sure how to handle that day so I have just played it as if it's going to recover again.
