That is very generous to use the word specialist,
as mainly I am just mooching what look like the best ideas
from about a dozen other folks--then following them up with
my own snooping around the internet, reading up on Yahoo,
checking out the company websites, recent news releases,
status of clinical work etc (much of the science I do not
fully understand--so that is a warning to newbies just out
shopping for symbols!) and of course there is lots of good
information here on SI.

Of course anybody stumbling onto any post of mine would
do well to do their own DD, that goes without saying.

Also, say somebody had a hankering for biotech...but
wanted to ease in, I'd say that they should average
into that new Janus fund...or maybe HQL or HQH over
the next few years...I wouldn't be laying all my money
on the line right now with the market so toppy. What
I am throwing in there is exclusively on third tier
neglected issues--the sort of stuff that shows up on
the T/FIF thread for example.

Happy trades!

Speaking of BioTechs - ASTM is doing a surprise move this afternoon. No news, no rumors, no hype anywhere and a surge of buying volume all of a sudden.

Two possibilities...
1. News leaking about contracts being signed in Europe.
2. Buying coming in from one of the few BioTech Forums/Conventions going on around the country.

Can you comment on the significance of gaps in chart patterns? What I'm specifically wondering about is the likelihood of gaps being filled eventually. E.g. many of the internet stocks gapped upward a couple of weeks ago and even after correcting are now well above these gaps. Do you think the gaps will be eventually filled?

Thanks,

Gary
