SANTA ANA, Calif., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- StarBase Corporation (Nasdaq: SBAS - news), a leading provider of advanced Internet and intranet-based technical collaboration and software configuration management tools, today announced that a leading national store chain in the entertainment industry has signed an agreement with StarBase for an initial 1,700 product licenses of StarTeam. The company expects to deploy StarTeam in all retail stores and will fully implement the product within their software development teams. The company will also utilize StarBase's Compliance Tracking System (CTS) to assist with their Year 2000 compliance efforts.
This agreement is expected to increase to over 3,000 product licenses as this Internet and retail chain entertainment services company continues its aggressive and fast paced growth. This 10-year-old company opened 352 new superstores in the twelve months ended September 30, 1998, and with more than 1,200 stores in 43 states it's growing at the rate of one new store every day. The StarTeam solution will be deployed to support the management of their Point-Of-Sale system. StarBase's software solution will provide for a distribution process and deliver change management control for the corporate-wide software development team. The customer's objective is to manage and maintain tight control over the development of software that supports a dynamic and evolving retail system.
