>> Bummer... the msft cc was pretty negative. They made it pretty clear this was a one time pop and are guiding subsequent qtrs up only a penny or two<<

Microsoft plays this record so much that the vinyl is beginning to make scratch noises. They always try to downplay the eurphoria after a hugh price run up. The problem is too many people are now becomming familiar with their announcements and are not discouraged as before. keep buying Microsoft whenever you can

Best Regards
Frank

remsft talk a bummer
MSFT officials ALWAYS talk that way. Its amazing they ever have earnings increases, they always sound so "this is the only time" ish.

Of course one never knows: perhaps they mean it and that's why no split announcement. (Or maybe they just feel there are enough msft shares out already.)

I've owned MSFT for eight years and things are not always what they appear to be to the uninitiated when it comes to a MSFT conf call. Bottom line is that NT 5.O/Win2000 and Office 2000 when shipped will be the biggest upgrade cycle in MSFT history hands down bar none.

Please read the article in the following link to gain a better appreciation of MSFT.
