Your feed may be real time, but having those alerts come out at 13:52 kinda misses the major move that started at the bell, doesn't it. ;)

In fact no appreciable price movement can be associated with those news releases. Big money knew it at the open; decided it was a fine day to short this one down. My goodness some folks made some money today. Tomorrow they'll probably make it back on the upswing.

But then what do I know!

y2k hurting software business... that is really a value-added call from alex brown. did these guys just figure this out in january, 1999.

documentum knows about y2k. they managed expectations accordingly. if y2k hits 'em really hard, then they will miss a quarter. that is the risk of owning a small cap software company. is this different for dctm than (most) any other software company, no. if they continue to manage expectations correctly and beat estimates and that $1.25 turns into $1.35, the stock can double from the mid-$20's and double again as long as they execute.
