SO: Well, I have been trading the Market for years with manipulation as the watch word.

Heck, have you seen some of what is happening on SI as of late. The SI Gurus (bashers) are running SI, it seems. Check the home page to see who I am talking about. (SI Guru story)

I would not be surprise, to find soon that members are being asked to start paying protection money to post on SI without being harassed...<g>

Sad and sorry state...

Regards,
LG

SO, I have to admit, I did hear a couple of days ago, that Bill wants to raise another 50 cents on a pack of smokes. I was surprised because that was just done. And in CA, the state added 50 cents. (anyone notice there's no cents symbol on the keyboard?) <g>

So, if no one buys smokes, how does the govt get money for schools?
And, I thought the previous deal had something to do with no more litigation against cigarette makers?

I'm truly corn-fused!!!

The news about his proposed tobacco tax came out over the weekend.
Most of the stuff in his grab bag of programs was leaked out already.
He dropped all pretense that he wanted to raise tobacco taxes to
stop teen smoking. He wants to raise taxes to fund new entitlement
programs and social programs. The same as he did in the battle over the tobacco settlement when he had the cover. Now that California has passed a referendum to raise tobacco taxes to pay for social programs, Clinton is just coopting the plan.

A non-smoker sick of smoke and mirror politics.

Stock; RE > I mentioned the one disappointment
in the DOW. Phillip Morris. I mentioned it because of the breakdown in prices on the chart.

I track the Dow fairly hard, and MO's drop today was not as bad as
some of the others. In fact a lot of others were down almost as
much. At least two of them more.

--------------
Thing is I've been warning people about the break down of a lot
of blue chips, for some time..hell MO been doing good to some
of them...( tech is just about all that's holding the S&P
up )
Getting killed is KO, XON, JNJ PG MMM CAT BA IP, AXP, JPM,
S..this is telling me that the speculators are what's left
in the market, the ones pushing the envelope..the ones who
when their stocks start to fall, will dump out..

The DOW is over half gutted , but the few holding it up
are doing very good..Hell AT&T and IBM may support them all before
it's over.
-------------
I don't see the fall yet, but I'm being cautious,
I figure the S&P 1260 to 1220 trading range, if she breaks 60
then it's on up, if 20 it's down. WE may take out 60 on the
open.

With reservations to watch GreenSpams, "REPOs" if he drains
liquid like he did on the 7th and 8th then I go short right
away.

He has been throwing money at this market ever since
the LTCM fiasco.
-----------------
THE FED is the problem, if you had an honest market they
would not be intervening every other day. and the FED is not
our government, it's a cartel of privet bankers who have a
lot closer ties to the international investment bankers than
they do the Government..they spend hours and hours in
secret meetings that they won't tell Congress about.
They are not accountable for what they do, yet they own you
and me and the whole country.
The politicians are chasing a job, dam few of them have any idea
of what's going on or really care about anything but getting
elected..
-------------------

It's ironic Tobacco becomes the pay back from the Indians,
before the white man came it Was never sold or traded
It was used only for special occasions religious and such,
considered too sacred to sell, it could only be given as a
gift. The white man talks big pious holy bull s*ht..but nothing
is too sacred for them to sell, not even their children,
who they sell into a national debt all the time.
Put all them MO freaks in jail, or send em back to Europe.
Who needs em anyway, we have the internet and MSFT !
The only safe things to buy.

Jim

PS there is no reason any Government can not be and should not
be self supporting, A short term debt to her own people should
not have to exceed the amount that can be paid off before a
new year starts, or there is something wrong with that Government.
Bringing each new generation into more and more debt is
immoral.
