If they were able to get within 3 feet of the barefoot section with Bellvue #2, would the new hole not provide enough of a "path of least resistance" for reservoir fluids, that they could pump cement down Bellvue #1 and be able to shut the BOPs at the surface?

It seems to me that if #1 was shut in, reservoir pressure would "prefer" to exit through #2, rather than try to exit through the cracked casing of #1, where we probably still have 8000 psi reservoir pressure.

Just a thought. Comments?
