The Vortex,

I too am frustrated over the entire GRNO situation; from the master of understatement. On a more positive leaning note, I have some information to pass along concerning the patent process.

BC seems to have picked a credible and evidently highly successful patent firm with which to do business (this time around). Patents that list Oliff & Berridge as the attorney/agent are listed as far back as 1983 . In '83, they served as attorney/agent on at least 154 issued patents and the number has steadily increased almost every year (900+ in 97, 1300+ in 98/99).

The press release says O & B notified GRNO that the patent WILL be issued. I don't believe a reputable law firm would allow a statement of that nature to be released if it were not true. The patent process (finalizing technical jargon, diagrams, etc) is probably a quite lengthy one between the time of approval and its posting on the USPTO web site. How lengthy?..I haven't a clue.

A couple of weeks ago I queried O & B about the general patent process and specifically GRNO's patent. The only info I gleaned was a msg on my answering machine explaining their position on attorney/client privilege and a request that I speak to BC at GRNO for further information. A quite professional sounding gentleman to boot.

I am assuming BC completed all the necessary steps to satisfy O & B's requirements (documentation, $$, etc) and expect O & B to complete the process in due time.

Dang, looking back at that second para it almost sounds like a prospectus for Oliff & Berridge. Maybe I will explore a new line of work. :)

Hope this info helps.
