In the Spin Off info received from PeopleSoft it states that: The recipient's initial basis (for income tax purposes) in the distributed MMTM shares will be the fair market value of such shares at the time of the Distribution. Upon sale you will have a taxable gain or loss equal to the difference. MMTM closed at 17 1/4.

What is the fair market value? opened at $10.

MMTM will be taxed as a gain to the shareholder when the stock is sold. I believe the price was 10$/share? Someone help me here.
