IKE, I am in total agreement with your SOX assessment as I believe 401 is now launch pad to not only 430 but higher to 450 intraday highs..... I'm sure an ultimate target you have posted previous past. Any standouts in SOX for this next assault? JT

Good Morning Ike:

Thankyou for your synopsis about the current state of affairs! You know I agree with your evaluation, particularly in regards to the SOXX, RUT,DDX, and BKX! Hopefully we can see a close above 14,100 on Nikkei, and let that trade run a bit higher. Will be watching closely and am out if we fail at that level!

With regards to SOXX, I'm looking for a broadening out in short order! Many of the bigger companies are selling at a significant premium to some of the small and mid-cap's. I'm seeing some of these companies as solid turnaround plays, that the market hasn't caught on to yet. I assume this agrees with your opinion on the RUT as many of the companies fall in this index!

Once again, thankyou for your insightful analysis! This thread is second to no other IMO, because we are simply traders, not guru's with pre-concieved notions. I'm sure they'll come a time soon when we predominantly play from the short side, but did we ever let those trades run on the way up! All the best Ike!

Regards,

Kevin

Ike, I liken your play on SAP to ALA! Good buy points on both, and core-holdings in my book. Do you follow ERICY, and if so do you consider this a solid play in the telecom group? I added it to Core portfolio after the gap down last month?

Do you have a read on the action in U.S. today 1/20? Looks to me as a short-term top has formed, and I initiated some OEX put's for February. Thinking we fill gaps on composite.....so maybe retrace from upper envelope back to 50 EMA.

As I'm writing, the Nikkei is solidly above the 14,100 intermediate resistance! I assume you would like to see dual closes above this level in order to predicate a retest of 15,000? By the way, I like your theory of two closes above resistance. This has greatly improved my trading in that it saves me from false breaks. Also, it proves to be a level that's re-tested, thus providing another place to initiate entries! Hope everything is well in your corner of the world, and your enjoying your new living arrangements!!!!!

Kevin

Ike

I just got into Japan by buying EWJ an index stock covering 80% of Japan's GNP. Hasn't done well to date, but neither has japan . Looking for nice results going forward as Japan recovers.
