Japan, HK and all the European bourses up strongly so far, today. I think I can safely say that most in Europe have been flabbergasted by the surreal nature of the impeachment proceedings: many were starting to worry that a body politic capable of such grandiose pretentiousness might actually talk themselves into a disaster. But Ruff's defence and the State of the Union seems to have created a sense of relief that that won't be the case.

I have never been quite sure as to which market follows which... What do you think the knock-on effect of the Bank of England possibly lowering interest rates will be on the US markets, if any?

How much weight does Greenspan et al give these foreign market machinations?
