Hey why is everyone so down? I knew this was coming. I tried to tell you: Message 7361707

The true test will be for the Q not to head back to its 'natural home' . Chill for now and lets see where we are in three weeks. The people who have identified the Q as a 'traders' stock need to be flushed out and that will take time. The numbers are good and things will get even better. The infrastructure is not making money yet but who cares? I dont know of any multifaceted companies in which every division always makes a profit. Just look at the infrastructure unit as a loss leader. It is important for the Q to keep its hand in phones and infrastructure in order to monitor the real world. Phones have improved, watch the infrastructure take off as soon as the 3G debate is exposed for what it is: A cartel putting up a smoke screen to protect their market. (Remember the Europeans invented the cartel and they have had 300 years to perfect it.)

The message should not be Euro governments stopping Qcom. They are not. The message should be the unfair trade practices of a bunch of Euro companies. They are refusing to let Qcom get in the game unless Qcom pays with traded royalties. The cozy set up has the Euros trading royalties all over the board. 'I'll pay you phone royalties if you pay me copier royalties' No net loss it you make both copiers and phones, but it makes it expensive if you dont.

The pressure is building. The GSM telcos are beginning to see they are going to pay somebody to upgrade. On the whole they might stay with the current infrastructure provider, but surely they dont want to be left behind if a competitor can get to 3G sooner. Watch them squirm this year.
