Bingo! Basically they let the company see how uniform the diamond population is in the dyke. If the dyke has little pockets with lots of diamonds, and other areas with non, that would make it very difficult to predict the grade properly, and would also make it very difficult to validate a mining decision. However, if the grade and distribution are relatively uniform through the dyke, the overall grade and distribution can be projected and a mining decision can accurately be made.

To release the CF results from just the 500kg sample taken from the mini-bulk wouldn't tell us much. Only when compared to individual drill holes can we see the consistancy of the dyke. (NOTE: Because of the small sample size represented by each individual drill hole, variations should be expected! If all 70'ish drill holes are released though, a "confidence interval" should be able to be calculated... that would paint a better picture)
