CMOS, VLSI, TUNE.

Sue,

Great trade on CMOS!

I sold VLSI today for 5/8 profit because they release earnings after the close today. I'm not expecting anything spectacular and I think the stock could easily sell off to 12 after the release. I have burned too many times before holding VLSI through an earnings release...not this time baby! lol

You might want to watch TUNE. This is a TCI spinoff. The chart looks good although it has resistance at 5. Once through there, and I think that it will get through there, I think the stock could move quickly to 5 1/2. I'm in at 4 9/16, 4 5/8, and added today at 5.

Dan

Dividend Play

Recently there was some discussion of stocks with good dividends. You might want to look at RENN, a small closed-end fund that invests in convertible bonds and convertible preferreds of small companies. Some of those companies go under, others pay off handsomely.

Distributions from the fund vary but totaled 97 cents a share last year. The NAV recently was over $10 and RENN currently goes for about $6.75, so the discount is large. It has sold at a discount ever since opening, but not always this large. One of the problems is that due to its small size, NAV is not regularly reported by the WSJ or any other publication that I know of.
