ratlong,

Ericsson deal has finally been officially announced (it must have
been rumored for 1 1/2 year!). No details about the size of the
deal, but Ericsson (ERICY) use Rational tools heavily. I believe
the deal generates revenues consistently (I've heard they pay a
fee for each copy of a Rational tool that they install and use) -
it's not a fixed amount. More deals with other larger companies,
please!

I also hear rumors of LARGE software companies interested in
licensing the Rational Unified Process (which in turn will sell
a lot of tools to these companies and their customers).

Also, RATL has sold the swedish company SoftLab to Ericsson, a
consulting and services company that they bought a while ago.
Probably won't be a press release of that, it's not one of their
greatest deals...
