John...

No questions about the Ebay points:(bogus goods, steep valuation,etc..) I also agree that BID=>20%EBAY. The problem with the people is going to be far greater than you think. I am in that biz and am speaking with these people. They view themselves as somewhat elitist and above the i-net caliber auction world. The increased burden on them now is manageable...but I know for a fact that several high-level specialists are not happy with this arrangement for long and are underpaid and overworked with plenty of options for other opportunities. Don't forget what happenned when the bulk of the Contemp. Dept. left two yrs. ago.....Christies ramped up and now dominates the quality goods in that area. I agree the name is worth more...but as rule a brick&mortar biz will carry a steep discount to a pure e-world biz in the same space....AMZN vs. Others, AOL vs. DIS, etc...all decent examples. I just want to add some caution to the fury. I know Dede and others @ BID...they are good, but not great managerial talent and a decided disadvantage they have is a real-time reticence to remain flexible and agile.....very critical ingredients for the i-net world....I'd rather bet on the EBAY management if I had to. Lets keep the dialogue up.
