BancBoston Robertson Stephens Adjusts Estimates on FORE Systems, Inc.

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by BancBoston Robertson Stephens, a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers, CRD number 41271:

BancBoston Robertson Stephens managing director and networking and telecommunications analyst Paul Johnson today reiterated his Buy rating and adjusted estimates on FORE Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORE - news). FORE Systems, headquartered in Warrendale, Pa., is a provider of ATM switches, LAN switches and network interface cards used by corporations to build high-speed broadband networks.

''We are reiterating our Buy rating to reflect the results in the December quarter, with third quarter earnings of $0.10 per share on revenues of $158.7 million in line with expectations,'' said Johnson. ''Revenues in the quarter increased 12 percent sequentially and were up 30 percent year-over-year.''

''Given the results, we are adjusting our estimates, lowering estimates for fiscal year 1999 to reflect the slightly lower profitability in the December quarter, and raising our estimates modestly for fiscal 2000 to reflect higher 2000 revenue growth estimates,'' said Johnson.

In my opinion, Fore is a good buy at $9-$10 per share. If you
wait long enough, you could buy it in that range.
