For now they are.
But later they'll short one producer over another long. And those holding the XAU will fall. Did you notice the 4.7M shares of one of those producers trade in TO yesterday? Do you figure that was a long or short position, or just a cross? Which stock has the most effect on the XAU, and what if they try a takeout on another?
