In order to win, you have to survive. As in these most challenging of markets, for instance. Band Ore was incorporated in 1947 - that's pretty good in my book, and they have good quality projects (including the Thorne, Shebandowan, etc.), funds in the treasury, and have remained committed to Canada when others were busy chasing the flavour of the month in INdonesio, etc.. I can remember the last mining recession to have really creamed us, following the flow-through days in 1990 +/-, and there was an Ontario Govt. "open house" for mining in Timmins. I think it was the annual affair they have that moves around from Sudbury, Timmins, Kirkland Lake, etc. and this one year was overrun by major mining companies. You know the scenario, tons of guys paid to go and get tanked, kick tires, bug prospectors, borrow reports and maps they never return, talk about anything except exploration because they mostly hate their jobs, but there was one guy there running around, handing out maps and a press release, telling anyone who would listen about his little company and their great property near Matheson. Anyway, this guy kept bugging me, giving me his maps over and over, I probably heard the same story 15 times in two days. He also had the only suite in the hotel, the majors are too cheap to pay for anything except Suburbans that don't start. And that suite was hopping for both nights of the convention. This same guy kept giving out the maps, releases, etc. as long as anyone was still there. I think you've got the picture, that was Wayne O'Connor promoting Kingswood and I always figured if the guy worked that hard he couldn't be as bad as the majors kept saying. Plus, if he was so bad, why were they dealing with him anyway? You can fault him for liking a bad hockey team like the Leafs but not for doing his job.
