Steve - Re: Congrats. See it IS possible to make money on other stocks."

Are you joking ?

I made money on Cyrix shorting it in 1996 then going long in late 1996 and selling out after the NSM buyout.

I also bought AMD 1t $12.25 in late 1996 and held it a little too long but I got out when the IBM "buy-in" rumor kicked in ($29.38).

Then I bought back in at $17.25 and $15.50.

The trick with these two Clones 'R Us companies is to sell them when you have a profit - unlike Jerry's Kids and the HallaPeno crowd who are waiting for AMD and NSM to put Intel out of business.

If you note, in your post of 10-29-98 you discussed trading acitons in '96, then $17.50 and $15.50, but on 10-29 AMD closed at between $19.00 and $21.25 giving you a nice profit on your RETROACTIVE investment. (You did not give dates of purchase, only that you had.)

What am I missing here?
