My $'s on AKLM.......Acclaim's South Park Nintendo 64 Game Exceeds Retail Expectations

Nintendo 64 Hit Will Be Followed By March PC Release And Global Launch

GLEN COVE, N.Y.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Jan. 20, 1999-- Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKLM -
news), a leading worldwide interactive entertainment company, announced that sales of South Park for Nintendo 64 have
exceeded retail expectations. The initial shipment of South Park quickly sold out during the holidays, and major retailers have
already placed re-orders. South Park for the PC will ship in March 1999. Acclaim also plans to launch the game outside North
America in March.

''We are pleased to report that the first shipment of South Park sold out in record time, exceeding retail forecasts and making it
one of the top-selling Nintendo 64 games this holiday season,'' said Paul Eibeler, vice president and general manager of Acclaim
North America. ''The demand for South Park by consumers has been incredible.''

''South Park was our number one selling Nintendo 64 title during Christmas week,'' said Doreen McKenzie, divisional
merchandising manager of video games for Babbage's Etc., the parent company of Software Etc. and Babbage's. ''The game
exceeded our sales expectations, forcing us to re-order immediately.''

South Park's release was supported with a multi-million dollar nationwide marketing campaign that includes television, radio,
online and in-store merchandising targeted to adult males. The campaign also features televised advertisements on Comedy
Central's ''South Park'' cable show. Acclaim includes a warning label on the game's box cover informing purchasers of South
Park's adult content and language.

South Park for Nintendo 64 and PC launches internationally this March.

''The South Park TV program is incredibly popular in London and throughout Europe,'' said Rodney Cousens, president and
chief operating officer, Acclaim International. ''We're very excited about the March launch of South Park in the European
market and have high expectations for its global success.''

Loaded with non-stop action and laughs, the South Park game is true to the wildly successful television series. The game unfolds
in five episode-based, single-player adventures. South Park features custom voices recorded specifically for the game by Matt
Stone, Trey Parker, and Isaac Hayes. Gamers can choose to play as Kyle, Stan, Cartman or Kenny in single player mode, or
select among a host of 20 South Park characters in multiplayer mode. Acclaim's Official South Park Strategy Guide was
released simultaneously with the game providing fans with tips and game strategies.
