Earnings date.. yes that was covered before.. but there seems to be a a small hardship here. I have both "first call" and now another company, which I am not sure I'm sticking with either. There are a number of reasons why the exact date is not gotten in some cases: a) The company does not know the when their report will be released so when someone like FIRST CALL gets in touch with them, they give a date and then they proceed to get a 'corrected' date and do not bother to inform first call on the change. b) calling the companies 'investor relations' department in most cases gets you to a message machine and they call back only 70% of the time.. I usually try 3 times and then tell others to call.. A lot of messages coming through will surely light a fire under the 'investor's relations' department and they will hopefully call back. c) Companies just like to pre-report and about 10% of the companies do pre-report The good thing is that research companies are starting to see what I have seen for two years, namely: how important correct earnings dates are for traders and even investors..so a batch of companies are coming out to specialize in just that. I have recruited such a company called net_earnings but so far they have not customized my earnings plays, so I might have to look further. I ,too, would like 100% accuracy and I'm striving for that, but it might take a week or two to get it. I hope by February, which is a great month for earnings as well, we achieve 100% accuracy.
