LARGENT/DUNN:

All in all, a totally ineffective response by the party that is right on the issues but wrong on rhetoric. Dunn's attempt to woo soccer moms with gardening stories reminded me of Peter Sellers in Being There. Largent's story about his football career and his cheerleader wife made it sound like he was running for student council. There are a lot of people who want smaller government who absolutely hate cheerleaders.

But the biggest problem is that they are oblivious to the sea change that this scandal caused. As long as these gals and guys bring up their families as the first order of business, the attacks of Larry Flynt are fair game. I would applaud any candidate who says, "You know what I'm not even going to tell you if I'm married or not because it's none of your business."
