Off topic:

<< I had to waste 30 minutes of my time
arguing my point, but they filled me at $1.29. (specifically
stating that this wasn't routine and not to ever expect this
kind of treatment again....standard disclaimer to cover the
supervisor's butt). >>

The question is: Could they still buy you those shares in the market near the price in question?? If the stock had run away on you (meaning thousands of dollars were at stake) I doubt they would have buckled! The probably just did to keep a customer "happy"... ?

As far as Investorline goes: you have to call them to put in stop losses or change/cancel trades. The biggest problem with this is that if you have a stop loss in, you can't put in a sell online on that stock! You have to call up and cancel the stop loss first!

Hi Rob :

this is really nice that you get your fill because they made
mistake ... but sorry the second , or third part of your post
is a bit incomplete ...

*****But it shows that if you feel you've been
ripped off by lousy service you should complain to a supervisor
I've also got an Etrade account...with them you can't short,
and you can't place orders on stop.*****

first there is no a way in hell to get a supervisor on E*trade on
phone -- doesn't matter if you want to give him a hell or to give
him a kiss --- all what you get is a promiss "that supervisor is going to call you back" for that one don't stay on one spot you could
grove roots first till get phone
the second with the e*trade you can't do nothing beside chit-chat
to get the order from you to the floor takes anything between 5 min
and eternity ... to change your existing order about the same ,
to switch from one page to the other one 2 min avarage ( have ADSL
and 350 Mz with 190 Mb RAM ) which means it shoud be faster than i can say "amen"

well .. i will not keep you for all day here 8-))
just my 2 cents

good luck ... tlb
