Well - a little good news from my end. I have been very critical of Web Street Securities computer system in the past (i.e. balance information incorrect - updating slow etc.). However, in the last few days (when I logged on) - I noted a vast improvement. Things worked perfectly. I hope it continues.

Regards,

Phil

I pulled this off the Motley Fool message board. I hope the author does not mind my posting it here.

I just got fried by Webstreet today. I put in a limit order of 82 for MKTW. Webstreet accepted the order but could not tell me if I owned the stock for over 2 hours. Assuming I did own it, I attempted to put in a sell order at 85. MKTW hit that shortly after, but I got a message that said, "Stock is not owned, cannot sell". Over two hours later I find I DO OWN THE STOCK, only now, the price has dropped considerably. A 3 point gain turns into a loser. I call and speak with John, in the brokerage room. He does not acknowledge the long time to confirmation, nor my attempts to cancel upon learning that they cannot confirm. His only explanation? "Internet stocks move fast." Too bad WEBSTREET's order department does not. WEBSTREET is not ready. I would recommend all day traders avoid WEBSTREET like the plague.
