It seems that you are projecting even more aggressive prospects for 3Dfx than I am. I fail to see why 3Dfx cannot be the number two with as you state 25~30% of the market? Also, since there are companies at the present with less than 5% of the market and *are* making money, I don't see why having 5~10% of the market should never bring the company any money. My guess is that this year the graphics market was 3~5 billion. With revenues of 200 million, 3Dfx has about 5% of the market and *is* making a decent money on its investment. So even if 3Dfx's market share remains unchanged and it only grows with the market, they should still be much better off 5 years from now than they are today.
