Problem with that is that far too many folks (over 50%) with those kinds of accounts choose the GIC alternative which "guarantees" a low but steady rate of return (currently 5 to 6%).

This far outstrips the expected 2% return (I believe this is the number) that the boomers will get from SS and the negative return that those entering the work force now will get.
