I'm wondering what the game is now - looking at the people buying at $5.10 - $5.15 per share - I mean the large players. Maybe they approach Barrick at some point and do some sort of lock - up deal of their own, possibly in concert with NEM - and freeze out the Lundins?
Otherwise I can't see how Barrick will win this thing without paying through the nose - because every time they up the offering there will be trading just above the offering price. One has to assume that Barrick's investment advisors are using this sort of approach - but in a more pro-active way - in other words they will be putting out feelers to put together a control block - which doesn't need to be 50% - a much smaller number will out vote the Lundins. dd
