Compaq would have done it in November when the stock was 8 not wait until it doubles and certainly not while the stock is in a free fall, do you think they want to give a way money? - sorry don't buy it. In addition - increasing their internet presence does not mean buy any internet company at any price - I would think it would have something to do with their business like maybe an ONSALE or an auction site. Anyone can make up a rumor - I want to hear exactly who said it before it means a dime. So far I heard on these boards that they are interested in Lycos E-bay and many others -all just BS to prop up the respective stocks.

For what its worth, there is a rumour that CBS might acquire DBCC once the dust settles. Just checking in as I hold no position in the stock but enjoyed the run-up immensely !!. Buy-out pre-IPO spin-off was not on the cards because the benefit to the principle shareholders could not be realised that way.
