RR - when I suggested that ABX might make a deal with NEM and others to in effect lock up control I was thinking that if NEM isn't going to bid then it will sell - at a tidy profit. They will hardly be interested in a minority position in ARP. I'm trying to figure out the end game for Barrick - they won't IMO just be there all the time ratching up the price. The Lundin's have I think only about 13% - so their voting position is shaky although as management they can try to thwart Barrick any way they legally can. On the other hand they have a fiduciary duty to get the best deal for their shareholders, bearing in mind 'a bird in the bush', etc. . dd
