QNTM and RDRT reported better than expected. RDRT does work for IOM.

B., IOM needs to bring their cost of sales down 1.75% (that's pennies at the retail shelf) and SG&A down 1% (or some combination of the two) in order to make $.05 or better (depending on positive tax provision) based on $465 million in sales. This would mean that 1/2 their earnings would come from positive tax provisions. If disk sales ratio relative to drives increases by a fraction (even "1/4" disk per drive) earnings would nicely exceed $.05.

Going forward, the more drives, the more disks, and the ratio of disks to drives increases quickly and earnings should theoretically be easier to make.
