In addition to selling lower-priced computers, Silicon Graphics has announced plans to gradually shed its nearly $1 billion stake in microprocessor subsidiary MIPS Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:MIPS - news)

Has any one reconciled SGI balance sheet with this number. I am just wondering how much of the above is already in SGI share price. Personally, I get the feeling that SGI numbers are understating the MIPS investment.

Didn't pay for the toll call, but according to this morning's WSJ:

Gomo said SGI remains on track to swing to profit by its fiscal
fourth quarter, which ends June 30. While he said that profit
probably won't reverse the losses of the previous several quarters,
he said it should reverse a "small" expected loss in the fiscal
third period.

Sounds like F97: three Q's of losses and one Q of aberration.

Great to see another engineer employee bull. Long-term shareholders
await the completion of the 12-^H^H^H 18-^H^H^H 24-month turnaround.
I never thought I'd see the day^H^H^H year^H^H^H^H millennium when
the U. S. government had more surplus than SGI.
