The article mentions the device is pen-shaped item that contains a tiny glucose sensor covered by semipermeable film. The film is highly selective: glucose in the urine can penetrate it and bind to the sensor, but compounds that obscure glucose measurements, such as Vitamin C, cannot.

NEC has worked on this device for over 5 years and this became only one of my concerns about PLMD's business plan....they are solely dependent on a one product plan for delivering future growth. I'm in San Antonio tonight and a medical feature on their news tonight was the testing of the new insulin inhaler program here. Very positive comments from one individual in the program.
