Thanks for the translation Mauricio. I was impressed by the numbers myself. Looking good. I'd still like to know what influenced the opposition to withdraw the other vote.

Brazil Govt-Allied Leader:Pension Vote To Start Within Hour
Dow Jones Newswires

BRASILIA -- Brazil's lower house of Congress will begin final voting on a crucial pension reform measure "within the hour," the leader of the government coalition in the chamber, Arnaldo Madeira, said late Wednesday.

At 2300 GMT, debates continued in the lower house on the merits of a bill that seeks to increase social security taxes on civil servants and require some retired public workers to contribute to the pension system.

Earlier, the lower house approved a measure to fast track the pension legislation, which has been voted down four times in the past four years.

The measure, which aims to save the government 4 billion reals (BRR) ($1=BRR1.58) a year, is a key component of the government fiscal plan that formed the backbone of an agreement with international lenders for $41 billion in aid.

If approved in the lower house, the pension bill will need to go through one more vote in the Senate, where the government has a solid majority.
