Agreed, but now we know to give severe dips a week before earnings some pensive thought, well my jvln short might pay me back the 4k i was up on cree which turned into a 800 dollar dust bite.

For further consideration, bbtk-is starting to perk up a bit moved nicely but is still weak on the bid side, strong intraday on the bid ,,i think some of the public is thinking press is due out judging by their one a month history of releasing some kind of press, probably just speculation. Like i said it was a buy at 2 9/16 up to 3 and is a little bit of a crap shoot right now. They still have to submit their restructuring plan to maintain listing which was put into question last year regarding net asset value. Here is what you have to look forward to 1. Earnings feb5th-4:01 pm=-Reuters
2. Feb 8th _quarterly confernce call
3. And at some point some kind of submittal of restructuring for listing requirement. Probably bond restructuring.
4. Revenues are being primarly derived presently from the renogotiation of lucent contract last year.
5. Look for innovative broadband products to be released mid 1999 serving the clec and telephone companies.
6.Bosch telecom presently has staff inhouse at bbtk developing broadband products yet to be revealed in detail
to public.
7. European developments on the deploy side are probable.

Lizard's target the teens later this year. But until you get word on the delisting requirement being resolved you are still in a bit of a crap shoot mode. But its the kind of crap shoot I like.

Jenna--
Any thoughts on APEX as an earnings play? Earnings are apparently due out next week. Unfortunately I didn't notice the run it has recently been on until just now.

GNET.. here is an example of 'anticipatory upswing' at its finest... GNET one of the few internet stocks up today. It could hit 150 after the current earnings report. GNET had a very nice 3 day run before and through the earnings report. You can probably use that as a benchmark.

LGTO another of our earnings plays beat by 2 and likewise had an anticipatory upswing although not as strong as GNET's..

EFII another one of our plays held its own nicely even after being on a very strong uptrend and will most likely be upgraded after a very strong report.

PLCM a fourth earnings play beat the street by coming in with $0.20 with a expected $0.14..

VSIO came out even but had a very strong few weeks before earnings

MMCN which was even but likewise exhibited a some good gains recently including today until it finally retreated towards the close.

VLSI the final earnings play was expected a negative $-0.01 instead had a profit of $0.02 cents.

Jenna, what method do you use to "catch the anticipatory upswing" prior to earnings? My method is very simple and I'm not sure it is correct. I wait for an increase in volume combined with an increase in price. If this isn't good enough, can you help me refine it?

TIA, Jim (MG member)

Also, what do you use as a signal to sell?
