How do I get the monitor screen to show anything about the Setup? With no ATI Expert98 Driver loaded, unaware how to load it, I'ms tumped.

The POST does not make use of the ATI Expert 98 Driver. It uses some kind of bios supplied VGA driver.

I would unplug everything but the bare essentials. Reseat the RAM and CPU. All you need is the CPU, RAM, video card and keyboard. Then turn on the machine and hit DEL key at the prompt to enter bios.

the HDD LED shows steady

The hard drive light should light up intermittently -- only when the HD is conducting I/O.

Probably plugged in upside down.
