Number Nine<NINE.O>technology offered in Dell PCs

LEXINGTON, Mass., Jan 20 (Reuters) - Number Nine Visual Technology Corp. on Wednesday said Dell Computer Corp. <DELL.O> will offer as an option in the PC its sells, flat panel monitors using technology developed by Number Nine.

Dell is offering the high-resolution digital flat panel system as part of Dell's Precision WorkStation line of computers. It will also be offered on DellWare, Dell's online and print catalogs, Number Nine said in statement.

Available Wednesday from the Dell Precision WorkStation Web site, the PC version of the Digital Flat Panel Solution Pack consists of Silicon Graphics Inc.'s <SGI.N> 1600SW Digital Flat Panel Monitor and the bundled Number Nine Revolution IV-FP digitally-equipped graphics accelerator, with 32-megabytes of memory.

Number Nine's stock rose 2 to 3-3/4 in afternoon trade on the Nasdaq market, and touched 4-3/16 earlier in the session.
