Exactly Keith. It is expensive if you buy more than 1000 shares of something esp pennies. But I am opening this account for daytrading only for the most part.

Plus as you mentioned, E-trade (and sometimes Greenline) can be excrutiatingly slow (or down) when you need them the most. For Daytrading, fast execution and confirmation is vital. I will gladly pay for better service. Also I can negotiate fees with them depending on my trading and investing styles.

I'll let you know how I find them,

Essam.

Keith re:Priority fees

Not sure if they have just changed their fees dramaticaly to the downside but this is what I just found on the website.
Welcome Schwab to Canada! :)

Electronic Brokerage Fees

Item
Equities minimum $30
Less than $5000------------>0.75%
$5,001 to $10,000---------->0.50%
$10,001 to $40,000--------->0.25%
$40,001 to $100,000-------->0.125%
More than $100,000--------->Negotiable

So looking at your $3500 trade again it will only cost the min. $30/trade or $60

Am I mistaken?

Essam.
