Paul, If you own just a few stocks and watch them closely, then the chapter in Wm O'Neils on "when to sell a stock" probably gives the best guidance on when a stock is topping. Otherwise, I would hold a stock as long as it was above its BSL and has an RS in a column of X's. The best way to solve the topping problem may be to make sector bets with mutual funds or AMEX sector SPDRs.
