Question on the split mechanics.

Shareholders of record on 5 Feb get issued split shares, right?
Actual split takes effect later in Feb?

I don't understand whether it makes any difference if you buy or sell it before 5 Feb is the actual split occurs later?

I mean suppose the effective date of the split is 25 Feb.
If you buy on 24 Feb, you end up with twice as many shares in your account the next day, each worth half, right?

How would that be different if you held if from 4 Feb to 25 Feb?

Why even sell into the split, John N.?

Ever heard of AOL? Right back to where it was pre-split.

BAM

John, it appears that you may be confused about the implications of a stock split.
