Hi s, regarding your thoughts on SBC/PAIR. During last qtr's conf call the PAIR CEO said they would not go after ADSL accts at RBOC's b/c ALA was dumping their equipment to gain market share and PAIR wouldn't lower margins to compete. PAIR said they would go after CLECs and ISPs instead. But this could have changed w/ the new CEO.

Some people think PAIR has a good chance at FON though.

Re: CSCO - i haven't heard or read anything positive or negative about their equipment.

Your comments about ORCTF/FON/radio shack are interesting. Here is an older article that quotes an ORCTF guy about entering retail distribution:

"Orckit, which supplies core silicon as well as complete ADSL system components, is in negotiations with a number of potential OEM (original equipment manufacturer)customers in preparations for introducing modems into the retail distribution chain "in the
next few months," says Bill Dorsey, strategic marketing manager for Orckit. These manufacturers will have to test their devices for interoperability with Orckit's and other vendors' G.Lite CO gear before the software implementation is undertaken, but the existence of the modems at the retail level is sure to put pressure on the cable industry to secure a retail presence for its modems."

Next week is looking real interesting. The shares held up pretty well today as well.

**I'm going to post an article on a new technology that could make DSLAMs obsolete!?!
